Dada J P Vaswani visits Singapore from 1-6-02 to 11-06-02

Saturday, 1-6-02 Dadaji Arrives in Singapore.

It was the 1st of June 2002, and beloved Dadaji was expected to arrive shortly, on board flight AI 432 from India. Eager devotees started to gather at the airport's arrival lounge with beaming faces, waiting anxiously for the flight to land. At the first glimpse of Dadaji, the crowd quietened and a sense of peace and tranquility filled the air.
Our Gurudev was in our midst, and all our attention was focused on him. Overflowing with love and joy, we requested Dadaji to take a seat at the arrival lounge, where we sought his blessings. Dadaji individually showered his love and blessings to us all, leaving us with a feeling of elevation. He also presented us with Prasad of sweets & chocolates. From the airport, Dadaji was taken to Mr. & Mrs. Rupo Chugani's house, where he would be residing till the 5th of June 2002 after which he would move to Mr. & Mrs. Chandru Budhrani's residence.
Later that evening, Dadaji attended our daily evening satsang at the Centre and thrilling vibrations were felt by most of us in His presence. At night, Dadaji spoke on the importance of daily satsang, and expressed his joy at the beautiful vibrations felt in the Centre's prayer hall.

Sunday, 2-06-02 Ruh Rihan at Sindhu House

The Sindhi Ruh Rihan (informal Spiritual chit-chat) was attended to full capacity. The Ruh Rihan revolves around a central thought, which for that day was, "Khareen cho piyo phireen hia bhojha ain bhaar, kar havaaley Hotje, aaheen tun unjho baar". In English, "Oh why are you carrying these heavy burdens, hand them over to the Lord for you are His child." Dadaji cautioned, once our problems are handed over to the Lord, we should stop worrying about them and let God take over. Most of us went home lighthearted that evening.

Monday, 3-06-02 Ruh Rihan at Sadhu Vaswani Centre, 127 Marshall Road

Many came early to ensure they sat where they could behold Dadaji's glance. "Ajab bungalow milyo tokey, po-ey varee biyo piyo goleen. Ra-hey tho saarn Husna waro, eeyo raaz natho kholeen." A beautiful thought given by Dada for us to contemplate upon. In English, it means " An extraordinary bungalow you have received , then why search for another. The Lord is residing within you, that mystery you are not unraveling." Dadaji made us aware how precious our human birth is and we should not fritter it away, by sense gratification. Every family was presented with an audio cassette & a Sindhi version booklet of The Hanuman Chalisa composed by Dada J. P. Vaswani, a wonderful gift to cherish.

Tuesday, 4-06-02 Question & Answer at Sadhu Vaswani Centre

Many questions were submitted in writing but due to time constraint not all were answered. One of the questions put forth was, whether one could marry out of the Sindhi community, a very relevant question as many mixed marriages do take place by Sindhis in Singapore. Dadaji replied it is okay, only if parents bless and consent to the marriage, for we have got our human birth through our parents and we must obtain their blessings. I am sure many hearts were put to ease by this and many other illuminating answers that Dadaji gave. Dadaji distributed prasad to all present.

Wednesday, 5-6-02 Anjali Group of Ladies at Sunita R. Chugani's Residence

Anjali group which comprises of 28 ladies is named after the nom de plume of Dadaji. The objectives of the group are doing social work & discussing spiritual matters during these meetings. Few verses are recited from the Noori Granth & discussed on. The vachan taken in Dada's presence that day was explained to us by Him. He explained to us what Radhe stood for and once again reminded us to yearn for the Lord as a miser yearns for gold.

Saturday, 8-6-02 and Sunday, 9-6-02, " Life After Death' talk at Singapore Conference Hall

The two evenings started with heart stirring "Kirtan" and "Vachan" from the Noori Granth. We were also shown a powerpoint presentation on the activities of Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Pune on the 8th and on the 9th an audio-visual documentary on the Life and Teachings of Sadhu T L Vaswani.
We were enlightened on both the evenings on "Life After Death" by Dadaji. Our anxieties and fears on death were dispelled and we got glimpses of life eternal and beautiful.
Dadaji gave three practical suggestions:-

  1. When death occurs, you will be asked by the being of light," What have you done with your life?" Therefore, prepare now, serve, practice silence and meditation, and form association with a holy man, your "Isht Devata". Keep on accumulating acts of service, so that the day you leave you will be rich.

  2. Let the passage through the etheric double be swift and instant, therefore do not be attached to forms and names, nor to possessions. You do not belong to anyone nor does anyone belong to you. Nothing belongs to you.

  3. Be a blessing unto others. Help others and remember that others are here so that we may help them. It is in the house of heart that we have to dwell.

Dadaji then related a story of a 12 year old girl who was dying with a smile on her face, for during her life she had made Jesus her friend and so when the nurse asked if she was afraid of dying she said,

    "The beloved is near,
    Why must I Fear
    In his arms I rest
    Whither, he knows best."

Therefore, during our lifetime we must form association with the Holy Ones, only then departure from this world is sweet for they come to receive us.
All too soon Dadaji departed for Bangkok on 11-06-02.
