Teen Ratna Dal
 

Ingredients

  • 2 T kidney beans
  • 3/4 cup whole urad dal
  • 1/2 cup channa dal
  • 5 cups water
  • 2’ cinnamon stick salt to taste
  • 3 T oil
  • 4 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1” ginger chopped
  • 11/2 T chilli powder
  • 1/2 T cumin powder
  • 1/2 T garam masala
  • 1/4 t turmeric powder
  • 5 red tomatoes grated
  • 1 T coriander leaves
  • 2 1 cream (optional)
 


Method

  1. Boil the kidney beans and the two dals with water, cinnamon stick and salt
  2. Saute garlic in oil till light brown, then add onion and ginger and fry till golden brown. Add the dry spices and cook till brown.
  3. Add tomatoes to the above ingredients and cook for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Add the boiled dals to it and cook for another 10 minutes.
  5. Add coriander leaves and mix. Add cream (optional) before serving.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves.
