Pistachio Mithai
 

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups non-instant milk powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 t green colouring
  • 5 1/2 cups pistas coarsely ground
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 can condensed milk (397 gms)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 t cardamom powder ground
  • 4-5 T ghee varkh for garnishing
 


Method

  1. Add green colouring to the milk. Mix this milk to the milk powder till it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Keep it aside for an hour.
  2. Mix condensed milk, water and sugar and bring to boil, in a thick saucepan. Keep stirring till sugar dissolves and bubbles are seen on the surface.
  3. Add the cardamom powder, milk dough and nuts. Keep on stirring
    till mixture leaves the sides. Gradually add in the ghee, stirring constantly till mithai takes in the ghee and leaves the sides of the pan.
  4. Spread mithai on a greased shallow dish or thali and flatten it smoothly. Decorate with varkh. When cool, cut into squares or desired shape and serve.
