Onion Cake
 

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour or self-raising flout
  • 6 stalks spring onion chopped
  • 1 1/2 t sesame oil
  • 3/4 t white pepper salt to taste
  • 1/3 cup hot water
  • 2-3 T cold water oil for frying

 


Method

  1. Marinate spring onion with sesame oil, white pepper and salt. Keep aside.
  2. Knead flour with hot water. After a few minutes add in the cold water and knead well. Keep aside for an hour.
  3. Divide dough into 4-6 portions. Roll out each portion very thin approximately 6” rounds.
  4. Sprinkle spring onion evenly on each round to cover the whole area. Roll up like a mat and then take one end and roll in like a pin wheel. Flatten slightly and deep fry or shallow fry till golden brown.
